What’s a Sifu Francis Fong Seminar Like?

Sifu Francis FongMy First Sifu Francis Seminar

The first time I met Sifu Francis Fong was at a seminar in Upstate New York. I had only been training for 6 months and I was a beginner of epic proportions. When I first started my martial arts training I knew nothing, not even how to make a proper fist.  Here I was about to meet one of the most accomplished martial artists in the world with over 40 years of experience.  I was nervous and excited at the same time. My instructor, Sifu Eric, had told us numerous stories of his experiences with Sifu Francis and I was eager to meet him and have some stories of my own.

I was not disappointed. It was an incredible seminar. Everyone at the seminar was supportive, friendly, and helpful. Sifu Francis was kind, gracious, and a most excellent teacher.  He is able to make every person at a seminar a better martial artist no matter their length of time training, basic beginner such as myself included.  I was able to put my 6 months of training to use (felt really good about that) and I gained new knowledge that I still use to this very day, more than a decade later.

Since that first seminar I have attended numerous others with Sifu Francis and each time I come away with more knowledge and a renewed sense of purpose in my training.  After the seminar I cannot wait to get back into my regular classes to practice what we learned in the seminar and talk with my friends in class about how incredible it was. There is so much information presented during Sifu Francis’ seminars that we talk about what we remember from the seminar trying to supplement our notes and between all of us we are able to remember even more.

I am proud to be part of such a wonderful lineage and part of Sifu Francis’ Kung Fu family.

Sifu Francis Fong will back in Upstate New York on April 23rd & 24th. Come to the seminar and get your own stories. You will not be disappointed.  The only Sifu Francis seminars I regret are the ones I did not attend.

Bit of advice: Before you attend the seminar, empty your cup. And remember your martial arts etiquette, be on your best behavior and represent your instructor and school with honor.
